Savater gives his son this advice:"Avoid what closes you up and cuts you off from the world."
To me, it's great. I think that if we close up, sooner or later we'll become sick, depressed, without life. We need others to live a human life. Besides, many fears come out in loneliness and those fears may prevent us from being free, from being what we want to be, doing what we want to do and going where we want to go. In this way we can't live a good life and so we would die even though we were alive. So, let's take Savater's advice.

As a teacher, what might you "close up and cut you off from the world", Liliana?
How can you help your learners avoid such risks?
Above all, do you honestly feel this is concerned with your job, or does this have nothing to do with what you were expecting to do when you thought of becoming a teacher?
Let us know!
Gladys
Hi Gladys,
As a teacher, not giving me the chance to show what I have learnt for fear that I could fail in the new experience without asking for help or information to those who have succeeded in their path might close me up and cut me off from the world.
I would tell learners not to give up whenever they don't understand something or they have any doubt, that they should ask for help and try again and again until they achieve their goal.
I think this is concerned with my life, my career, my possible job, with everything that I wanted to achieve. If I had asked for help when I failed both oral exams at the profesorado de Av.de Mayo and profesorado tecnológico twenty five years ago, because I didn't know anything about comics even in Spanish, I would be teaching now. I'm sorry for that but I was very shy.
However, there is still life in this old cat that's why I'm trying now.

Hi Lili!
I really like what you said. I think that you can tell the students keep trying and not give up, but you have to set the example to and this is exactly what you are doing Lili. The good thing is that you didn't give up and you are here trying to finish what you have started. And perseverance pays off! I'm sure you have learned lots of things from your experience at the Teacher Training Collage that you can apply to your task as a teacher and to your daily life. I think you'll be a great teacher!! ;)
I loved reading your answer here, Liliana!
The lesson you're thinking of teaching learners seems most valuable to me, and especially relevant in our current times... Just last weekend a colleague and I were discussing how unfamiliar teens today are with the idea of effort and sacrifice as paths to success... Your words show them the door to wisdom!
Happy blogging!
Gladys
Forgot to say something important: I agree with every single word Adriana has posted, except for the fact I don't think you will be a great teacher... I think you already are a great teacher, though you might still need some more time to let the whole world see it!
LOL,
Gladys
Hi Gladys and Adri,
I greatly appreciate your words. They moved me to tears! and empower me towards my horizon.
Lol,
Lili
